Poverty is prevalent in the Joza location because of high levels of unemployment. This affects the children of this area greatly. The children suffer from malnutrition because they cannot get the food that they need in their daily lives.
The Assumption Nutrition Centre was opened 24 years ago with the purpose of helping the children in jeopardy to overcome their situation. The children are the future and helping them, helps the society. It is through the children that the cycle of poverty can be broken.
